My Journey – Life in Switzerland

I grew up in the Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg—a region full of nature and tranquility that shaped who I am. After completing my high school diploma in Überlingen, I chose to study at the university in Konstanz. The proximity to Switzerland and the international character of the region opened up new perspectives for me and sparked the dream of one day living and working in Switzerland.

In 2016, the opportunity finally came: I was given the chance to write my bachelor’s thesis at VZ VermögensZentrum in Zurich. For the first six months, I commuted daily between Konstanz and Zurich, which was exhausting but also allowed me to experience Switzerland as a potential new home. After graduation, I was hired and decided to move permanently to Zurich, settling for a time in the vibrant District 3—a lively area that was the perfect match for this exciting phase of my life.

Life in Switzerland offers me the perfect blend of stability and innovation. The cultural diversity and openness of the people here helped me feel at home quickly. At the same time, I appreciate the precision and progress that Switzerland embodies, and I’m excited to now be establishing my own company in cloud computing.

My Interests

Aside from my professional projects and my commitment to Genta.ch, I dedicate a lot of time to the world of science fiction and personal development. I find inspiration in stories that transcend the here and now and in audiobooks that focus on topics such as investments and personal growth. These works open up new perspectives and help me develop my own vision—both professionally and personally.

In my free time, I also enjoy immersing myself in the captivating worlds of exclusive gaming titles that offer complex characters and compelling stories. Whether exploring a post-apocalyptic world with Aloy or following Ellie’s bold decisions, these experiences enrich my daily life and serve as a source of inspiration and relaxation.

Professional Highlights

With over 15 years of experience in IT management and the cloud computing industry, I have extensive knowledge in developing and optimizing IT solutions. I began my career as an intern and system administrator and have proven myself in various roles over the years—most recently as a Senior Application SME at Zurich Insurance Group. In this role, I led numerous projects, optimized processes, and implemented agile methodologies that significantly boosted team efficiency.

In Switzerland, I’ve gained valuable professional experience that inspired me to start my own company. At Genta.ch, my goal is to develop innovative cloud solutions and contribute to the advancement of digitalization in Switzerland. I want to make cloud technologies affordable and accessible for everyone, democratizing their use.
